Hi Merryn, If I had a decent car I could trust, I'd be up there in no time, the Orkneys are something I must do before I die ;)
As for amateurs, especially those who actually do the trowel work for no pay and a lot of discomfort, the archaeology world would have been a good deal poorer without their efforts.
