Many many thanks, Littlestone, for pointing out that the Newnight video is available on the web.
I've just watched it, aghast. I had no idea that the 'holes' in the hill were that extensive !
Good that they are manually packing the chalk in - will they fill everything ?
But I suppose all the metal supports and plastic bags will remain so that the interior of that amazing monument will be one more place forever polluted by the wastes of the 20th and 21st centuries.
