Excuse me Andy but the Stones List didn't 'nearly get shut down' - it suffered a technical failure which Chris fortunately managed to fix. I've been with the Stones List for about five years now and was very saddened when I heard it might close; I reported that news on TMA and then happily was able to report there a bit later that it was up and running again - providing the necessary links to the Stones List subscription page should anyone feel interested to join us.

As to 'hiving off discussion to dens of iniquity'. Oh dear :-(  TMA and the new Avebury Chat forums have a lot to offer to those interested in megalithic subjects and the Portal certainly does not have a monopoly in that area. Perhaps a little more co-operation between the various megalitic forums would be more constructive?
