I don't think you're doing yourselves any favours by using descriptions of 'yellow hatted men in muddy boots': If I didn't know any better, I'd get the impression that you're both of the opinion that these people are builders or navvies and not the qualified archeologists that we all know they are. 
You're both a bit too happy to fly off the handle - there's no need to start calling for a public enquiry quite yet, is there? Do you really think that they will have taken sarsens out of the mound and not recorded their original positions. Or at least the positions that they were discovered? Honestly, you people.
