Hello All
The fairly frequent calls for routing Chipping Norton through traffic past
Rollright has come up again. This time under air quality considerations
along with consultantations with experts. The favoured idea (and cheapest)
seems to be to route HGV traffic past Rollright with all the attendant noise
and other pollution let alone risk of serious harm to visitors crossing from
the circle to the King Stone. Check out the link below for more in-depth
information. This time the idea may seriously considered, which would be IMO
a disaster for Rolliright..

Chipping Norton air quality consultation
Public consultation days for the above draft Action Plan will be on:
Wednesday 27 February and Saturday 1 March, 10am to 2pm at the Town Hall,
Chipping Norton.
The Action Plan addresses nitrogen dioxide pollution in Chipping Norton,
caused largely by traffic and, in particular, Heavy Goods Vehicles.
The Plan, which is at a preliminary stage, has considered options such as
traffic management initiatives, and supporting initiatives to reduce air
pollution. A total of 28 options have been outlined and each one has been
appraised on the following basis:
* their practicality and cost effectiveness, and
* whether they show a significant improvement to air quality.
