well, there's Wansdyke - problem is, the Teutons
tended to attribute any feature they couldn't account
for to 'Grimm' or 'Woden': an earlier name for Adam's
Grave is a point in fact?

speaking of Wansdyke, i was up there recently: between
Tan Hill and West Woods it is undoubtedly oriented
against anyone approaching from the north: but
questions are: who built it, when, and against whom?
