Aye, so right Ric about China/Tibet/Olympics and Lord A being a good man; I love this bit from his blog dated Wednesday, October 31, 2007 -

"Yesterday the Parliament was prorogued, ie ended, and the new Session will be opened by the Queen on November 6. I have never attended the State Opening in the 45 years I've been in Parliament, because I don't see Parliament as being about dressing up in funny clothes like something out of a Gilbert and Sullivan opera."

Did you know, by the way, that English Heritage have laid a geo-electrical cable along the length of the Atkinson/BBC tunnel.* This cable hasn't been laid along the floor of the existing tunnel but into a newly cut trench that measures around a metre square!
