Hello there,
this is great news - i remember talking to a
middle-aged woman attempting to walk her dog along the
Ridgeway when she was suddenly sandwiched between two
motorcyclists going hell-for-leather either side of
her, the poor woman and terrified dog left shuddering
in the centre of the track, with no time or chance to
dodge the on-rushing scramblers
you might not believe this, but a bit further on i
found a man trying to repair a dumper truck on the
Ridgeway, which he was using as his own personal test
strip, amidst clouds of exhaust fumes and chalk dust!
i walked sections between White Horse Hill and Alton
Priors several years ago; i have a future project to
similarly walk the other way, ending up at Holme,
along the several ancient ways?
;)
