trouble is, at the moment, we have a mockery of
semi-restored Avebury, and that is all, it appears?

the henge is in a permanent state of 'managed ruin' -
actually the perpetuation of vandalism done in the
past :(

sacred laughter, including ribaldry, seems to be an
important ingredient in ancient ritual, it has a
function, accepted; but it is not an end in itself?

interesting point to bring up, though: 'Mischief
Night' (modern 'Trick or Treat'), during Hallowe'en,
is a form of ritual leg-pulling ~ pity there's not a
Stones equivalent for folklore?
