Yes, find myself agreeing with you there David.

And with the greatest respect Andy, when you say, "However I'm still not convinced that the Long Man was really at risk." Not at risk from what? Not at risk from damage. Sorry, as a conservator, I don't buy that, I know how much damage a single crumb on a sheet of paper can do. Not at risk from generating in the public a perception that it's alright to use ancient monuments for publicity stunts? Sorry, I don't buy that either, whether it's Fathers for Justice a Stonehenge, Sony at Manchester Cathedral or ITV at the Longman.

Think it was Nigel above who said this is about respect. It certainly is, it's about respect for the site from a conservation point of view, and it's about respect for the site from a 'religious' point of view. Think Ularu* here and you'll see what I'm getting at.
