The issue is this, surely: respect. This is only the latest in a long line  
of inappropriate actions at ancient sites - and those, together with vandalism  
(both individual and corporate) are all part of the same process. Either 
we're  gong to persuade the public these places are special and vulnerable or 
we're  going to see a continuing process of trashing them. Cursus was acting both 
as a  pagan and a Heritage Action inspector, with our full blessing. I know 
what  enormous effort he put into it and how it has been all for the good of 
ancient  sites in general. A bit of support and acknowledgement and gratitude 
wouldn't  come amiss.
