What would that do? Part of it will be preserved under the road.

The obvious comparison of something found under the soil and containing
small stone parts is a Roman Mosaic. To remain safe and visible to the
public these have to have some sort of protective building put over
them. I don't think you could just uncover it and leave it, especially
very close to a town and housing where I think there is a high
likelihood of vandalism or accidental damage.

Perhaps the most appropriate way would be to uncover a section of the
ribbon under some sort of building. It sounds like the ribbon is
hundreds of metres long so realistically the rest would have to be
covered back over (or left covered).

I think realistically that is what we should campaign for and stay out
of the road/no road argument as that is for the locals to argue for
themselves. This is hardly the Tara M3 bypass.

Finally, from the campaign page
http://www.wyed.co.uk/ribbon/page4/index.html

...'Hereford's Stonehenge?' I was waiting for that one... I hope they
can get a grip on reality and don't their eagerness to preserve the site
descend into this sort of nonsense!
