ye gods - could they not incorporate a 'raised
section' in this miserable road?

wonder if the fire-cracked stones (symbolism) may
derive from an early method of cooking foodstuffs,
whereby stones were exposed to intense heat before
being deposited into broth or soup-like consistencies,
within relatively fragile ceramics of even stout,
leather containers?

there was doubtless some mythology surrounding these
'cooking stones' ... something which would have been
right at the heart of every stoneage community?

additionally, there is the snake symbolism ...
