[Stones] Three stones in the Preseli Hills

Hey Wolf,

>From memory I don't know if these three stones are in the spot marked at
Carn Ferched or not.

I seem to remember that the two smaller stones were north of the path. I
have a single photograph of them with Foel Drygarn framed between them with
its three burial mounds.

The large stone I think was south of the path, near the forest's edge, lying
down, but very large.

Perhaps it is only me that imagines them as a set of three, I think the
small pair are far closer together than the large stone.

I wish I had taken many more, but it is the larger stone I am interested in
seeing. I moved to Canada some years ago so the Preselis are somewhat harder
to get to.

cheers

Alastair

  Hi Alastair

'Carn ferched' on the OS sheet - unless you mean that group nearer the
boundary by the plantation - shame I've not been up there since acquiring a
decent camera. Paul and Vicki?

My memory tells me they are standing around SN155329 next to the track
north of the small wood. There is one very massive stone to the south and a
pair of waist-high stones a short distance north.
I'd really appreciate images for a project I am working on. E-mail them
to me off list or post on-line and send me a link.
The Preselis have some great sites - the strange Bedd Arthur, the three
cairns on Foel Drygarn, many stone pairs, Gors Fawr circle. This site seems
to be below the radar.
