John's 'strong views' are one thing, presenting them as he did in a package of obscenities is another, and one hardly conducive to attracting new subscribers to this List. Cerri's post seemed to me to be well balanced (certainly not pontificating) and to be expressing an opinion she had been asked to express - an opinion she is perfectly entitled to. Why, Andy, are you assuming that Cerri is 'setting herself up as a spokesperson regarding Stonehenge? If you think you know the answer why not share it with the rest of the List so we can make a reasoned judgement.

This is not the first time, Andy, that you have made one of your sorties onto this List attacking a long-time (and in Cerri's case, respected) subscriber - why do you do it? You have enough respect from most of us for the excellent work you do with the Portal without attacking others who do not subscribe to it, or to your own point of view. Even with the Stones Mailing List, TMA, the Portal and other similar forums put together we are a small enough band - a band fighting what depressingly seems a loosing battle against those who would see our megalithic heritage ground away. Posts full of obscene language and in-house fighting do nothing to advance any of our causes.
