This was met with “you're on the wrong list mate”, followed by 

the reasonable comment that “we might then know how the Incas and 

such like managed their incredible stonework”,
  if the list responded positively to Nani’s request for information?
   
  Then there were several postings concerning “The Bank of England” and “the Star of India curry house”.
   
  Other comments followed, but I will stop at this point and ask, given that Nani is from India, were the comments concerning “curry” appropriate and could they be interpreted as offensive, or worse?
   
  I have in the past enjoyed contributing to this list, but the response to Nani I find both puzzling and worrying, from a public list which prides itself on tolerance and civility?
