The last time I went to "Cat's Hill" in Winchester there was a man with a
bag full of a chalky substance, making a flower pattern at the centre of the
maze:-)

"for those who honour the past but love living in the present"
> This year I went up to see how the maze was faring, someone had built a
fire at its entrance, but the day I went up was Good Friday and instead of
peace and quiet on the top there was about 100 people from the local
churches who had walked up with a cross. It was to my mind a strange
combination, an iron age hillfort with presumably pagan religion of old, and
the christian church carrying its cross to the top of the hill. Now I come
to think about it a lovely juxtaposition of religious history with the maze
uniting it....
