Thinking about labyrinths brings to mind our modern one on top of Solsbury Hill, near Bath. This was made, probably by road protestors a few years ago, because of the A46 improvement underneath the hill -( one of the would be linking roads between the south coast - Stonehenge - and M4 north, by the way) it can be found here, http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/post/45413,
This year I went up to see how the maze was faring, someone had built a fire at its entrance, but the day I went up was Good Friday and instead of peace and quiet on the top there was about 100 people from the local churches who had walked up with a cross. It was to my mind a strange combination, an iron age hillfort with presumably pagan religion of old, and the christian church carrying its cross to the top of the hill. Now I come to think about it a lovely juxtaposition of religious history with the maze uniting it....

Agreed, Caerdroia is excellent on labyrinths.
I've been fascinated by labyrinths for years, and have dabbled with them in
my art but never quite got where I wanted ...!
