The fact the village was re-named Devil's End confirms the fact the script was ripped off from an early Quatermass, where the nasties were dug up in "Hob's Lane". Only people of a certain age recall that!

I recall it - from behind the back of the sofa; it was one of the scariest SFs ever made with a brilliant plot (UFO found under a Neolithic skull). Was on TV again recently but was to scared to watch it :-(
