Tomnaverie had  quite a problem with stones that had been displaced , but it 
was mainly the recumbent and flankers that had been moved  recumbent had 
been moved  , probably for safety reasons due to the quarry workings. The 
profile of the stones were matched with the profile of the sockets , they 
had also been keeled ,  the recumbent had been rolled on it's side and it's 
earlier position was marked by chocking stones and a shallow hollow. 
Strichen is a nightmare and has never been excavated , like most RSC's , to 
the standard of Tomnaverie .
