WTF? Is Ben Elton here?
Fence the bits of rock off. (In)
Then no-one could possibly be offended by children playing.
You might be getting your knickers in a collective twist, but exactly who are you to lay
down the law?
If these things were built to do a job, then when they wear out, they wear out.
"Ignorent" ? (sic) I *bet* they don't listen.
Put the rocks under glass cases...
Else, let them keep on doing their job.
Do you think that the builders intended that children were barred?

I have 3 children who are allowed to play, but all have been brought up with respect for irriplaceable sites which are there for everyone to come and see and enjoy and contemplate what they were origionally put there for.....which i believe was NOT a childrens playground. Therefore i don't believe that children playing ON the stones was the job they were intended for, playgrounds are built to last for children to play on.
There are plenty of stones around the site they could climb and jump on, as my own children are allowed to do.
I'm sure children wern't barred from these sites when they were built but i bet they were taught to treat them with respect.
I am not laying down the law, but can you tell me why people who have travelled the very long distances to come to Calanais should have to see this? For some it is a trip they won't make again....it's not like just hopping in your car and going to Stonehenge to get here, it can be a very long, hard and expensive journey to get here.
I don't want to see the stones fenced in or under glass, but i would like for future generations to be able to see them too.
