Hi there!
You'll have a wonderful time in Brittany - the place is littered with really
wonderful monuments. Just stay there. The selection of really spectacular
stuff is overwhelming.

Don't be intimidated. Just do it! Get yourself a copy of Aubrey Burl's
Megalithic Brittany (all written in English) now out of print, but go to
some trouble to find a copy - you won't regret it - second hand from eBay or
the web - and some Michelin maps of the areas and you'll be set for a mighty
megalithic ride!!!! Many monuments are shown on road atlases too and loads
are signposted, unlike over here.

Here are some links to the blogs (with photographs to whet your appetite!) I
wrote after our trip nearly two years ago now...

Subject: [Stones] Gavrinis/Channel Isles

We're heading over to Brittany, France in late May/early June for about 7
-10 days or so. Are the sites as accessible as in Britain? We've always
enjoyed our time in the countryside there and would like and honest opinion
on what to expect.

We plan to visit Gavrinis in Morbihan and any other megalithic sites we can.
Not speaking French and never having been in their countryside does have me
a bit intimidated. Is this an easy thing to do?

We'd also like to visit either the Channel Islands if time (and money)
allows. Any thoughts? Should we just stay in Brittany? Is there an
inexpensive tour to the channel isles to see the stone sites there?

Any thoughts/guidance would be heartily appreciated. thanks....r
