[Stones] List Server Availability - warning - some geeky content

It was with rather a large helping of relief that I received an email
from my ISP today saying that they had upgraded my ADSL to the new 8
megabit max service. Relief because their original communication to
me regarding this had the upgrade date on the very day, later in the
year, when I fly out to Denver for my sister-in-law's wedding and a
two week stay in the Rockies.
If the upgrade had gone ahead on the original date, and the router
needed resetting after the upgrade, then the list server could have
been offline for up to two weeks.
Happily this is now not the case!
However, as part of the upgrade they do require me to turn my router
off for 1 minute every day so that they can assess the maximum stable
speed my line can cope with. I don't see this causing any problems to
list distribution as any inbound messages will be caught by my back-
up mail server and passed on once my line is up again - as long as
the line does come back up again of course!
Hopefully little or no impact - but felt it was fair to warn you all
'just in case'.
Cheers for now,
Chris
