"To answer the rather purile (sic) p**ing contest about who's done the most for ancient sites (in case I'm accused in return of not answering questions). I was thought to be doing enough to be asked to write on the subject for 3rd Stone magazine, but had to stop when it ceased. By that time Heritage Action was on the scene and going strong and I was winding down most non Portal activity (including other things like the Stone Circle Webring that has been passed to Michael Fox) to concentate (sic) on that. However it is still a strong thread, and since 2001 we've published over 200 'Sites Under Threat' items on a huge variety of things."

If you see the numbers of people engaged in any given activity as a 'puerile contest' why are you so concerned with how many members TimeWatch has? Seems to me that your comments indicate that, at a hands-on practical level, you've done very little to protect ancient sites. Your arguments are so vacuous Andy that they, and you, remind me of the quote by Dave Barry -

"I can win an argument on any topic, against any opponent. People know this, and steer clear of me at parties. Often, as a sign of their great respect, they don't even invite me." ;-)
