what a lot of interesting / challenging images!
my impression of the British neolithic is one of sex and mortality - that is the symbolism i pick up; it reminds me of aspects of Hinduism without the Middle Class preoccupations of the modern period; pretty Tantric, that's how i personally view Avebury, anyway ...
would love to be there on Thursday but i am recouping after 10 days in Wales, hunting menhirs and following Sarn Helen ...
;-)
many bests -

I wish I'd been able to get to the meet at Avebury. I'll be there
Thursday, thinking of what I missed.
If you'd like to see the work I've been making take a look here,
there are four pages of images of making, the reception, and the pieces:

The reception was great, lots of people showed up and enjoyed the
work. I made bread based on oats and honey, something like Neolithic
bread. I wish I could have found a real mead. The one I got turned
out to be wine with honey added, not the real thing at all.
The idea behind the work is to make contemporary art that is rooted
in Neolithic practice. I'd be most interested to hear everybody's
comments on the pieces. Do they work as contemporary art? Do they
feel as though they are rooted in the Neolithic?
